Marshall Doctoral Gown
The marshall gown differs from the president only in the 3 sleeve bars, as 4 bars are reserved by academic code for only the college president. Corded piping and a regal velvet panel at the hem are included in this style. A college regent, marshall or board member is entitled to full doctoral regalia, regardless of degree earned, to match the president.
Assuming that your school uses classic black regalia, the president still can choose a non-black gown, plus co-ordinating colors for velvet and piping within the context of established school hood satin codes. A velvet tam in the same velvet color makes a great ensemble! The matching hood should have piping to match the gown. Choose your fabrics from an assortment of colors.
